The Gel is safe if ingested, so if your cat does try to lick it after you apply, don’t worry! However, we do want the Gel to have time to work, so we recommend the following distraction techniques: Feeding your cat as soon as you have applied the Gel Playing with your cat straight after application Anicura Cat Gel Ointment is designed to soothe the skin and works well in combination with Anicura Cat Spray. Together they provide an excellent solution for dry, flaky and sore skin. Anicura Cat Gel Ointment is very gentle and safe to use on areas such as the face or paws. The strong combination of Sea Buckthorn and Apple Cider Vinegar will deeply moisturise the skin. Both ingredients also calm and soothe skin, whilst providing nourishment and leaving the skin feeling and looking healthy. The Gel can be used on broken skin and is great at helping small wounds heal. So if your cat has scratched herself and has a sore, give the Gel a try! We recommend applying the Gel 3 – 4 times per day to start with (although you will not do any harm if you feel you need to apply more frequently than this). With clean hands, gently massage it into the affected area, or dab on if the skin is very sore. When you start to see an improvement, you can reduce down to 1 – 2 times per day. This is why we use it in our gels, along with sea buckthorn oil. So why is Apple Cider Vinegar so loved? Not only is it a delicious ingredient to use in the kitchen, ACV has some great properties for your pet’s skin. It is an anti-fungal and also acts as an anti-bacterial agent, making it great for any bacterial skin conditions. ACV can encourage the growth of healthy bacteria to help the skin become healthier. It can also help to balance the pH level of the skin. ACV also has antimicrobial properties that may help to lower levels of yeast on the skin, which in turn can reduce flaky skin. Read more
