Blue Jeans Cable LC-1 Stereo Audio Cables Our stereo audio cables are manufactured in our own shop in Seattle, Washington, using our own proprietary cable stock which is made for us by Belden in Richmond, Indiana. The LC-1 design has the geometry of a coax, but with extreme low capacitance and heavy, high-conductivity shielding: two bare copper, 95% coverage braids layered one over the other. This both presents the best shielding available at analog audio frequencies and gives a low-resistance path between devices to prevent ground loop hum. The two cables in the pair are separate -- not joined together -- for maximum flexibility. Some Nitrogen, No Nonsense The small center conductor and large-diameter foamed PE (or, if you like, "nitrogen injected" PE) dielectric give this cable about 12.2 pF capacitance per foot. That and shielding are the most important cable attributes for unbalanced (or "RCA") audio transmission, without a lot of pseudo-tech fuss and bother. Read more
