You could lean the item to let the start water line submerged by the tank water. Then you press the switch to let the item pump water. When the water chamber is full of water, the water cycle begins to work, at this point, you could put the item straight. The item could pump water out as long as the water inlet is submerged under the surface of tank water

When start to work, please flood the water to the "start water line" but do not over WARNING WATER LINE. If the suction decreased, please try to turn off the power supply and open the product to check whether blocked.
