We designed this sock device to be durable enough to withstand years of use while at the same time provide comfort by seeking materials that could be finished off with soft edges to protect skin, socks, and stockings. We then took a unique approach and designed in triangle handles to minimize bending of the wrist and to encourage the use of larger muscle groups to pull socks up rather than relying exclusively on hands that may be swollen, painful or lack fine motor control to perform such a task. Using a sock aid takes practice initially but with these helpful hints, you will be well on your way to putting your own socks on again. Place Molded Sock Aid between legs to hold or lay flat on lap with top of device resting against abdomen while placing sock over device. Make sure the heel of the sock is towards the back of the sock aid when placing opening of the sock on the device. Ease the sock up the length of the sock aid, gathering the sock evenly as you go. Lower the sock aid in front of your foot on the floor. Pointing toes downward, slide your foot into the opening placing toes towards the end of the trough.
