The Southwire 41171N Precision Voltage Detector & Tester packs a variety of useful functions into one versatile and powerful electrical tester. It’s designed to fit comfortably in your pocket and conveniently performs three of the most common electrician tasks: detect voltage, measure voltage, and test continuity. Use the removable test leads to easily test AC and DC voltage up to 600V. Activate the non-contact voltage (NCV) detector for detecting the presence of AC voltage from 100-1000V. The NCV alerts you with both a red flashing LED and an audible sounder. There’s a bright handy work light that you can use anytime for those dimly lit areas. The 41171N is also a great Continuity Tester with both audible and visual confirmation. The 41171N has one of the largest LCD displays you’ll find in voltage testers. Plus, it’s backlit. It is designed to fit easily in the pocket and be carried around all day. It fits comfortably in the hand with Sure Grip rubber sides. Test leads are removable but also store conveniently on the back with the tips concealed so you can easily slide it into your pocket. It’s great for testing outlets because the test leads can be stored on the back the exact width of an AC outlet. It’s one of the few outlet testers that is UL listed and has a high CAT IV safety rating so you can be confident when using it.
