Unasco Gold Maximum Density Thread Seal Tape is a dense, unstretched, PTFE thread sealing tape that can be trusted in applications that demand high performance. PTFE resin is one of the most inert substances known to man, and as a result it is compatible with an impressively broad range of liquids, gasses, and pipe materials. Features & Benefits • Compatible with pipe made from galvanized steel, iron, brass, copper, aluminum, stainless steel, polyethylene, PVC, CPVC, ABS, and fiberglass.- Safe for use on pipes that carry diluted acids, compressed air, alcohols, concentrated/diluted caustics, chlorinated solvents, gaseous/liquid hydrogen, inert gasses, liquid petroleum gas, and many more chemicals and solvents.- Acts as a thread lubricant and anti-seize in addition to preventing electrolytic corrosion- Non-toxic, non- flammable- Effective across a broad range of temperatures- Indefinite shelf life Application InstructionsFittings up to 1-1/2 inch / 38mm diameter • Use 1/2 inch / 12mm wide tape.- Clean the male and female threads thoroughly.- Wrap the tape around the male thread. Take care to keep the tape under tension as you are wrapping so the tape moulds itself into the root of the thread.- Make sure that you wrap with the thread.- Make sure that the tape does not overlap the end of the fitting.- Three wraps seal most threads. For poor quality or damaged threads or threads that are hard to seal like parallel threads or threads on fittings subject to vibration, more than three wraps may be necessary. NOTES: As with any adhesive tape product it is always the user's responsibility to determine that the product is suitable for their intended use; e.g. if you want to remove a product cleanly from a specific type of substrate please test on an inconspicuous area first.Technical Information- Backing/Carrier: 99.0% PTFE <1.0% p
